Numeracy: This week we have been looking at parallel, perpendicular and diagonal lines. Give a definition for each key word.
The answers will not be posted until everyone has replied.
This task is due to be completed on Friday 9th March. If you cannot access a computer at home, please spend 5 minutes on a school computer to complete this task.
Good luck!

Shakira's homework,
ReplyDeleteDiagonal line-A straight line inside a shape that goes from one corner to another (but not an edge).
So, if you join two vertices of a polygon which are not already joined by an edge, you get a diagonal.
Perpendicular- It is when 2 lines meet up as a right angle which is always 90 degrees, on a square there is 2 perpendicular lines.
Parallel-When 2 lines are opposite each other and are the same distance apart, if yo carry them on they will never meet, a rectangle has 2 pairs of parallel lines.
By Shakira
1. parallel= 2 lines that never meet and stay the same length apart.
ReplyDelete2.perpendicular= 2 lines that meet at a right angle.
3.diagonal= a line that corner to corner.
Humza
Parallel Lines: Two lines that never meet each other and are always oppisite each other.
ReplyDeletePerpendicular Lines: Two lines that meet at a right angle.
Diagonal Lines: Lines that join from vertex to vertex but they can not be right by them.

Parallel lines:
ReplyDeletelines that are the same distance apart and never meet.
perpendicular:
Lines that meet at a right angle that is ninty degrees.
Diagonal lines:
The line joining any vertex or vertices of a polygon is called diagonal line.

ReplyDeletePARALLEL LINE:IS WHEN THE LINES DON'T MEET.
pERPENDICULAR LINE:IS WHEN THEY MEET AT 90*.
dIANGANOL LINE:IS WHEN THEY MEET AT THE VERTEX OR VERTERSIES.
Maisha's homework:
ReplyDeleteParallel lines- The lines never meet they are the same distance away from each other.
perpendicular lines: The lines meet at an right angle.
Diagonal lines-A line that joins two vertices of a polygon shape.
Parelle:2 lines that never meet and 's the same distantce apart.
ReplyDeletePerpundicular:2 lines that meet at a right angle.
Diangonal: 2 lines that meet at corners

Parrallel has to have two straight lines and the lines will never meet.
ReplyDeletePerpundicular means that the lines will always meet example right angle

Parallel: Lines that never meet
ReplyDeletePerpendicular: Lines that meet at a right angle
Diaganal: Line that come from corner to corner

paraell= two lines will never meet.
ReplyDeleteperpendicular=two lines that meet at a right angle.
diagnol=meets at a vertex.

parallel is when the lines never meet and they stay same distance apart.
ReplyDeleteperpendicular is when the lines are at 90 degrees angle.
diagonal is a line joining the opposite corners of a shape together.E.g. square, rectangle.

Definition for perpendicular:
ReplyDeletePerpendicular means when 2 lines that meet as a right angle (90 degrees).
Definition for parallel:
Parallel means when 2 lines are opposite and they will never meet.
Definition for Diagonal:
Diagonal means when two opposite verticies make a straight line betwwen them.
Paralell lines are when lines are the same distance and never meet.
ReplyDeletePerpendicular lines are lines that are at right angles.
Diagonal lines mean a vertex to another vertex oterthan the sides itself.

Kashf maths homework
ReplyDeleteParallel:2 lines that never meet, they can be horizontal, vertical and diagonal.
Perpendicular:to lines that meet at a right angle which is 90 degrees, you can show on a shape by putting a square when you see a perpendicular line
Diagonal:2 slanted straight lines, and when finding on a shape you join a vertex (corner) to a corner. (This is my way, did not look it up!)
parallel line:
ReplyDeleteTwo lines on a plane that never meet. They are always the same distance apart.
perpendiculer:
Lines that are at right angles (90°) to each other.
done by Radia Aktar :)
parallel It means two things going side by side in the same direction.
ReplyDeleteA line is perpendicular to another if it meets or crosses it at right angles (90°).
A diagonal is a slanted line that goes from vertex to vertex.
