  2. The light go through the sky like a storm.Northern Lights, which are beautiful as a angel,so they shine brightly. They look exquisite in the sky if you look up in the night. They wave like a billion trees in the breeze. They could be different colors but you never know what color they are until you see them.
    Northern Lights Poem:
    Northern lights look so bright,
One can be a different color in the sky,
Round they go like a circle,
    They never stop spinning round,
How they run through the sky,
Everybody keeps looking at them side to side,
    Rainbow colors they are,
Now they are better then a shooting star,
    Lovely they look,
It won't even be in the books,
Gorgeous they are lovely and bright,
However they shine like a traffic light,
Tumbling they gone one to another,
So they can't even go to there mother.

  3. The origin of the aurora begins on the surface of the sun when solar activity ejects a cloud of gas. Scientists call this a coronal mass ejection (CME). If one of these reaches earth, taking about 2 to 3 days, it collides with the Earth’s magnetic field.

  11. NORTHERN LIGHTS
The northern lights are usually seen in Alaska. You can’t see the northern lights in summer; you can only see them a bit. You can see the northern lights in spring or autumn and you can see them very clearly. The colours of the northern lights are green, blue purple and red. The northern lights are really shiny and sparkly. The northern lights are really fast. The northern lights are in the sky and they can zoom so fast. When people look at the northern lights they get so fascinated by its colours.

Northern lights are beautiful rays that come into night skies in Autumn and Winter.Northern lights contain particles from the sun which is where it comes from. You could find northern lights in places like Canada and Alaska which are very cold.

  17. Decorating the far northern night skies with ribbons, circles, curtains and spears of ethereal light, the northern lights or the aurora borealis as the effect is scientifically known are one of nature's most astonishing sights. Many who have seen them describe the experience as being almost mystical and it is little wonder that this strange, silent display has given rise to numerous myths and legends.

Usually seen only in the highest latitudes and most commonly within the Arctic circle, the auroro borealis is named for Auroro, the Roman goddess of the dawn and the Greek for 'northwind':boreas. the fantastic dancing green, and sometimes blue, purple or red, light have inspired many cultures to ascribe the effect's origin to gods or spirits.

In North America, for instance, the northern lights are known as the Dance of the spirits to the cree tribe, while in norse mythodology the lights are said to be caused by the glowing armour of the valkyrie female warriors who fetch the dead from battlefields and bring them to Valhalla.

Nevertheless, the lights are,of course,a purely natural phenomenon and one that is still not fully understood. They occur about 80 kilometers (50 miles)or more above the Earth's surface and are caused by solar'winds'of electrons and ions given off during solar activity streeming through Space and interacting with Earth's magnetic fields and atmospheric gases. Higher in the atmosphere, the light given off is red, while interactions at lower altitudes are green, blue or pale purple.
